Cameroon: The elites of Mefou-et-Akono draws Support to Paul Biya


Received last Sunday at the residence of Minister Gaston Eloundou Essomba, the traditional authorities promised the best possible score to the President of the Republic.

"We have asked to meet the Minister Gaston Eloundou Essomba to express our gratitude to the Head of State for his appointment, for the confidence he has renewed to the Minister for the Promotion of Women and the Family, and to tell him also thank you for the nomination of Senator Nkodo Laurent ".

The traditional chiefs of the Mefou-et-Akono Department in the Central Region had a clear goal. Thank. Support.




Reiterate their support for the upcoming elections. It was through the voice of Effa Nyama, leader of the Mvog-Fouda Mballa group in the Mbankomo district, that they carried this message. To this end, they were received last Sunday at the residence of Gaston Eloundou Essomba, Minister of Water and Energy (Minee), and a native of this department.

The meeting at the Odza neighborhood began at 13h with a mass of thanksgiving by Father Eloundou, parish priest of Oveng. Celebration followed by exchanges between the 69 traditional chiefs from the department of Mefou-et-Akono, and the owner of the place. Other elites from the department took part in the ceremony, including the Minister for the Promotion of Women and the Family, Marie-Thérèse Abena Ondoa.

The traditional authorities have especially welcomed the appointment of their son, Gaston Eloundou Essomba, to this ministerial position by presidential decree of 02 March 2018.




It was an opportunity for the minister to ask these traditional authorities to collect the grievances of the people on their return to bring them to the administering authorities.

"As they asked the President of the Republic to renew his candidacy for the 2018 presidential election, the traditional leaders have come back to confirm that they will support him to the end so that he can lead our country to stability.
