Cameroon appoint Clarence Seedorf as head coach to be assisted by Patrick Kluivert

Jdc | Cameroon have appointed former Dutch international Clarence Seedorf as the new head coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

He will be assisted by his compatriot Patrick Kluivert, Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education Bidoung Mkpatt told a press conference on Saturday morning.

As announced by journalducameroun.com yesterday, Cameroon football authorities chose the Dutch pair backing out of talks with Sven Goran Eriksson following the Swede’s high wage demands.

Clarence Seedorf will now take over the team with just under a year left before Cameroon defend their Africa Cup of Nations crown at home.

Clarence Seedorf, 42, has never been in charge of a national team but has had managerial stints with Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna and Italian side AC Milan where he is considered as a legend for his exploits with the team during his playing days. He equally had a brief spell at Chinese side Shenzen FC.
