Cameroon: This Is What Happened In The University Of Ngaoundere

237| A collective of teachers of the faculties of arts, letters and humanities and the faculties of economics management of the University of Ngaoundere in the Adamaoua region, sequestered the financial controller of the said institution on Tuesday, June 26th.

The latter claim the payment of bonuses and gratuities related to their participation in the various examinations, corrections and defense juries.

Convinced that their payment records were slow administraitve because of the financial controller, they decided to attack the latter by keeping him locked in a room until further notice.

These indignant teachers explain that their colleagues from other universities in Cameroon have already gone to the cash register against the University of Ngaoundere this is not the case.

It is learned that the controller sequestered a note in which it now requires the presentation of a law or regulation authorizing the payment of benefits received by the teachers of this university.

"By browsing different expense files related to examination fees from the institutions of the University of Ngaoundere, I note a growing increase in the premiums related to the organization of exams at the end of the semester namely the costs associated with the correction copies, monitoring fees, proposed tests, supers etc. and this malhé the non-existence of laws or regulations on the subject, thereby exposing offenders to penalties provided by the regulations in force ", could it read in this release.

A thesis refuted by protesting teachers who, moreover, indicate that the files of their colleagues from other institutions were targeted.

While waiting for the final return to calm, the rector of the University of Ngaoundéré asked the teachers to be patient.
