All these measures taken by the head of state are aimed at reducing public expenditure of the state.

In 2017 we learn, the government ended up with a debt of 38 billion Fcfa representing unpaid water bills from the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (Camwater), a company in charge of infrastructure, and Cameroon Waters (CDE), private company responsible for water distribution in Cameroon.

The telephone component shows cameroon Télécommunications (camtel), the main telecoms operator in Cameroon, carrying out a forced collection operation in 2016 with public sector administrations and establishments.

According to officials of this structure, the Cameroonian state and its dismemberments represent the largest part of the debts of this company with a debt of 65 billion Fcfa.
